Joomla or Joomla! is a free and open-source content management system (CMS) for publishing web content on websites. Released in 2005, Joomla is the 5th most popular CMS after WordPress, Shopify, Wix and Squarespace.

Joomla offers both frontend templates and backend templates. Over 1000 free and paid frontend templates are available to choose from. All templates act as an extension of Joomla and can be customized with source code overrides and/or CSS. Backend templates provide panels of controls for website administration.
